Eight digits The most expensive condo to change hands in 2015 transacted at an eight-figure price: $10.4 million, exactly double the $5.2 million record set in 2014. The maintenance fees for that property are just over $10,000 per month. Why not.

Luxury condo boom The sales volume for condos priced over $1.5 million has increased by 43.7%, with prices for the top units appreciating by 22.4%. Although this luxury segment still represents a very small fraction of the market, with less than 200 sales per year, it is continuing to grow at an aggressive pace.

A currency plan International buyers are especially drawn to this segment. They are now shopping with increased budgets, due to exchange rates being favourable for them.
