2015 Detached:
Big Picture
Onward and upward Prices for detached houses in Central Toronto have enjoyed a steady climb over the past two years and are expected to average over $1.5 million in 2015. This is a seasonal market, with the majority of transactions occurring between February and June each year, during which time properties also sell more quickly.
The simple rules of supply and demand No more vacant land remains in Central Toronto, so new houses cannot be built en masse. Demand grows, while supply stays low, creating fierce competition for detached properties. That competition continues to push prices higher and forces some buyers to look outside the city core.
