Toronto becomes more urban - and urbane City buyers are paying top dollar in key locations for townhouses, semi-detached homes and row houses, eager to share walls with neighbours and, in some cases, do away with their cars. Almost a hundred properties in this category over the $1.5 million mark changed hands in 2014, with the record price being approximately $3.6 million.

An upward trend The volume of transactions will rise in 2015 as continuing gentrification fuels more demand for compact urban properties, making them pricier. And even at an average price of over $2 million, they sell almost instantly: 17 days on the market is the norm. Multiple offers are very common in this segment and price range.
